A very easy way to manage pictures and files Tri-CATALOG was build to save a list of the contents of your folders, local and remote disks, CDs, DVDs, etc., in its data base so that you can relocate them very quickly and easily. With Tri-CATALOG, you can:
Catalog your volumes Tri-CATALOG saves in its data base as many volumes or folders as you want. The data base is updated with the list of all files and folders of the volumes and related information. A thumbnail is created and added in the data base for each picture. Volumes and folders are entirely analyzed when you drag and drop them on Tri-CATALOG. You can also ask Tri-CATALOG to automatically analyze or update any volume that is inserted (CD, DVD, external disk, etc.). View the contents of volumes As Tri-CATALOG has saved in its data base all data related to volumes, contents and pictures, there is no need to have the original files available in the machine to browse in the volumes, view the pictures and search files. And the access to files and pictures is very fast as all the data are in the data base (Tri-CATALOG does not need to rescan the volumes each time you need to access them).
The browser is the place where you control each volume. It shows its contents, files, thumbnails and related information (including Exif and IPTC data), and can also display the full pictures if the original file is available. Search in volumes Tri-CATALOG provides a powerful multi-criteria search engine, to find files and pictures matching criteria like name, date, size of files and size of pictures, comments and keywords, etc. You can use Exif and IPTC data in the search, and Boolean operators to create a filter that fits your needs. You can open multiple search sessions, and combine successive search results (add a result to a previous search, search within a previous search, etc.). Duplicate/Similar searches Tri-CATALOG provides a powerful search function that can retrieve duplicate files, as well as identical pictures (even with different formats and resolutions), and similar pictures (pictures that look like the original pictures). For example, RAW, JPEG and low resolution versions of the same picture (left screen copy), and pictures that look like an original picture (on the right):
Create Smart Volumes With Smart Volumes, Tri-CATALOG creates search engines where the results are saved and accessible at any time. You can have as many Smart Volumes as desired, each one with its own settings. For example, you can use Smart Volumes to show the latest pictures, to update the list of installed applications, to group all files and pictures related to a given project, etc. Create Pictures Libraries A Picture Library regroups in a separate file pictures and related information: thumbnail, Exif, IPTC and other data, comments and keywords, etc. Drag and drop any picture to a library to enrich it, sort pictures, remove, add new pictures at any time. The library will be updated automatically.. Classify, rename, organize the photos you just shot It is often boring and time spending to classify the picture taken with a digital camera. You have a lot of pictures with unusable names. You must change their name, scan each one to get the best of them, can zoom to check the details and clarity, check if they are underexposed, add comments and quotation, etc. Shortcuts are available to delete pictures, rename in one operation all selected pictures (with text, date, numbering), and copy some of them in a folder (for example to send them to print). A real Pictures Server From the browser of a volume, you can drag and drop pictures to the Finder (to copy them) or any other application accepting drag and drop of files (layout and design application, text editor, web site editor, etc.).
